Events Specialist (Temp)

London
Mid-Senior ICs

Job Description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is hiring a temporary Events Specialist to join our London office for 12-15 months. In this role, you will report to our Employee Experience Lead, and be responsible for the strategic planning and execution of London events — in-person, virtual, and hybrid! This includes projects like employee engagement strategy and analytics tracking, as well as on-the-ground operational responsibilities, including day-of event management and event marketing.

The ideal candidate will be a culture champion for our London office with the big-picture vision to craft memorable experiences, the attention to detail to ensure seamless execution, and the communication know-how to build excitement and anticipation. We’re looking for a creative problem solver with a “no task is too small or too big” attitude who will create events that not only reflect our culture of inclusive togetherness, but amplify it.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to bring office culture to life through experiences
  • Full ownership of community-building events for London employees
  • Leading and/or supporting team retreats, region-wide outings and trips
  • Support our Dublin office, US, and APAC regions as needed
  • Build enthusiasm for events through various communication tools, including email and Slack
  • Write engaging and concise communications to broad and diverse audiences

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience with strategic event planning
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to project manage your own workload and quickly reprioritize tasks as needed
  • Strong decision-making skills
  • Extensive experience in medium to large-scale planning production with a keen attention to detail
  • Passionate about building communities and fostering strong relationships
  • Experience researching, negotiating, and working with external vendors
  • Comfortable operating in fluid and open-ended problem spaces
  • Skilled at turning creative visions into reality
  • Experience working on cross-functional projects with many collaborators and stakeholders
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours/days to support company events
  • Ability to travel as needed to support company events
  • Ability to work from the office at least three times a week - what better way to engage with your community!
