Job Overview
The Senior Accountant will be a key member of the accounting close team, ensuring timely and accurate general ledger and financial reporting. This person will process and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting analysis across different accounting areas such as accruals, prepaids, inventory management and P&L budget to actual reviews. This person will coach our experienced accountant and co op and review their work.
What you'll do
- Supporting key areas of the monthly financial close to ensure timely and accurate reporting on general ledger and financial results
- Review departmental level financials for completeness and accuracy.
- Manage multiple streams of inventory and own respective BS account reconciliations.
- Prep month end related files, including but not limited to LCM, concession allowance and revenue deferrals.
- Review accruals and prepaid for completeness and accuracy.
- Assisting in the timely preparation of journal entries across a variety of financial areas, supporting schedules and analysis, and reconciliations
- Collaborate cross functionally with groups such as FP&A, AP, Revenue, Billing, FREO, and Technical Accounting to ensure accurate monthly financial reporting.
- Coach and review work of accountants on the team
- Maintain and update accounting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP
- Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements
- Assist with ongoing compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls
- Assist with the successful completion of the year-end audit and quarterly reviews
- Ad hoc projects to be determined as they arise
What you'll bring
- + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
+ 3+ years accounting experience, CPA encouraged
+ Must be highly organized, detail oriented, with strong problem-solving skills
+ Advanced Excel skills Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with colleagues in a professional and helpful manner
+ Motivated team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced, forward-moving environment
+ Ability to learn and understand financial accounting systems/software:
+ NetSuite and/or FloQast experience a plus
