Senior Corporate Accountant

Job Description
Hudson River Trading is looking for a Corporate Accountant with a background in financial services. You will have the opportunity to learn various accounting functions within the company such as corporate fund accounting, expense management, corporate structure management, and internal and external financial reporting preparation and analysis. In addition, a Corporate Accountant at HRT will work with developers to design and implement tools and reports relating to various accounting, tax, and financial reporting processes.
Responsibilities
- Record and analyze worldwide operating expenses, working with various groups across the organization
- Review expense allocations and provide analysis to Management as requested
- Perform daily and month end responsibilities associated with both regulated and non-regulated entities recording such transactions as income/expense accruals and prepaid asset amortization
- Account for our physical overhead and operating leases and work with various groups (Systems / Real Estate / Finance) to provide on-going data and financial analysis
- Assist with external audits including supporting the financial reporting team
- Work with our tax department to provide information and collaborate in connection with various tax return calculations and filings
- Collaborate with the Accounts Payable team to improve various deliverables that are provided to Management
- Assist in the creation and design of automated reports requested by management
- Test and utilize automated tools for reconciliation and profit reports. Automated tools can include utilizing Unix commands, SQL queries, and running scripts in Python
- Work with relational databases and set up reports using simple SQL queries
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, excellent understanding of GAAP
- 1.5 - 4 years of experience
- Strong Excel skills, VBA/SQL experience preferred
- Partnership or investment accounting experience is preferred
- Big 4 or large national firm experience a plus
- A CPA License will be required (must have passed and/or passed 3 of 4 sections with requirement to pass last section while employed)
- Excellent communications skills; articulate, persuasive, and tactful
- Must be detail oriented and able to multitask with strong time management skills
Annual base salary range of $90,000 to $120,000. Pay (base and bonus) may vary depending on job-related skills and experience. A sign-on and discretionary performance bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to company-paid medical and/or other benefits.
