Job Description
Hudson River Trading is looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel with a strong background in EU and regulatory laws to join our Legal team. This role is based in our Dublin office.
This role requires extremely close teamwork and collaboration with our Business Development, Risk, and Compliance teams in Ireland and across our global offices. As a strategic partner, you will enhance our understanding of Irish legal and regulatory requirements, and identify and analyze the legal and regulatory impact of our new business initiatives. The ideal candidate has a high threshold for navigating ambiguity and building effective solutions.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and advise on EU laws and regulations impacting investment firms dealing on their own account. This includes CBI regulations, IFR/IFD, and MiFID II
- Advise on Irish company law, corporate governance, and company secretarial-related matters
- Advise on entity capital strategies and cross-entity trading related matters
- Work closely with senior management and Compliance to liaise with the Central Bank of Ireland
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Laws
- 7+ years of Post-qualification experience
- In-depth knowledge of EU regulatory framework impacting investment firms dealing on own account
- Experience advising on EU laws and regulations applicable to an investment firm dealing on own account
- Experience working with and negotiating a variety of contracts such as trading, data, and technology agreements is a plus
