Job Description

The Workload Automation and Data Transfer team is responsible for two areas. Workload Automation (Job Scheduling) ensures that job processing is carried out in a timely manner using job queue prioritization management and automation. Data Transfer (Managed File Transfer) provides digital file transfer solutions for customers across the business and business application teams to exchange meaningful data with partners and platforms, using up-to-date security controls and industry best practices. This also includes maintaining and managing the support technologies and infrastructure to provide both services to the rest of the organization.

 

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for collaborating with management, departments, and customers to identify end-user requirements and specifications for job scheduling. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations. This will involve developing monitoring solutions, automating workflows, and using your technical knowledge of professional concepts to solve business problems. You will be responsible for evaluating elements of technology’s effectiveness through requirements gathering, testing, research and investigation and make recommendations for improvements that result in increased quality and effectiveness. You will be required to listen to and evaluate customer needs to determine and provide high quality solutions that align with customer expectations.

 

Key Responsibilities-

  • Job Scheduling and Workload Automation:
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement job scheduling requirements.
    • Develop and manage automated workflows for timely job processing.
    • Implement job queue prioritization and automation strategies.

 

  • Customer Collaboration:
    • Evaluate customer needs and provide high-quality solutions.
    • Gather requirements, conduct testing, and make recommendations for improvements.

 

  • Technical Development:
    • Focus on UI automation efforts.
    • Develop monitoring solutions and automate workflows.
    • Participate in projects and work on moderate to high complexity assignments.

 

  • Process Improvement:
    • Assist in developing standards, processes, and procedures for the team.
    • Evaluate technology effectiveness and recommend improvements.

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must reside in the United States (does not include Alaska or Hawaii)
  • Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • 2+ years of IBM Workload Scheduler and job scheduling.
  • Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server OS.
  • Cloud technology experience (AWS or Azure).
  • Strong time management and independent work skills.
  • Commitment to incorporating security in all aspects of work

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • Scripting experience (Bash or Shell).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with secure and efficient digital file transfer solutions via FTP/SFTP
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
