Job Description

Our Strategic Finance team is seeking candidates for two dynamic internship opportunities for the upcoming summer. We are seeking talented candidates for two distinct roles: one focused on Strategic Finance and the other on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Operations.

As a Strategic Finance Intern, you will be at the heart of our financial strategy, supporting key activities that drive our business forward. Your responsibilities will encompass financial planning and analysis tasks, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Moreover, you'll delve into research and analysis to provide insights crucial for strategic decision-making and long-term planning initiatives.

This role offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to the development of financial models aimed at evaluating investment opportunities and refining business strategies. Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and insights for reporting and presentations. Additionally, you'll be instrumental in supporting ad-hoc projects and initiatives, playing a vital role in enhancing operational efficiency and financial performance.

What you'll do:

  • Assist in financial planning and analysis activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Conduct research and analysis to support strategic decision-making and long-term planning initiatives
  • Assist in the development of financial models to evaluate investment opportunities and business strategies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and insights for reporting and presentations
  • Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed to drive operational efficiency and financial performance

What you'll need:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, preferably Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Passion for finance and a desire to learn about the strategic decision-making process
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Availability to commit to 3 days per week in person in Boomi’s Conshohocken, PA office for the duration of the internship period

The Strategic Finance team is also seeking an M&A Operations Intern. In this role, you will play a critical role in our platform expansion, supporting key initiatives that drive our growth through acquisitions and partnerships. Your responsibilities will include market, competitor, customer diligence, pipeline building, financial analysis, and valuation assessments for potential investment opportunities.

In this role, you will engage in research and analysis to provide insights essential for informed decision-making during the M&A process. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to developing Boomi’s M&A strategy and its growth story to investors.

Collaboration is vital, as you'll work closely with cross-functional teams—including legal, finance, marketing, commercial, product, and engineering—to gather data and insights for forming recommendations for our VP, President, and Chief Product Officer. The cross-functional nature of the role gives you an understanding of Boomi’s operating model and culture. Additionally, you'll assist in various ad-hoc projects and initiatives, enhancing our strategic position and financial performance through effective M&A execution.

What you'll do:

  • Drive outside-in diligence activities, like market scans, competitor assessments, and customer KPI analysis
  • Support in building the pipeline of diligence targets for Boomi
  • Research a short-list of diligence targets, help develop a view on synergies and the bookings model, form an internal recommendation on next steps
  • Evaluate which capabilities to build out via partnerships; and analyze potential partnerships
  • Help coordinate and prepare for cross-functional meetings
  • Support ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed to drive operational efficiency and financial performance

What you'll need:

  • Juniors enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program, preferably Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail, shown through extra-curricular activities
  • Growth mindset, flexible and open to learning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Passion for Tech and M&A and a desire to learn about the strategic decision-making process
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a fast-paced environment
