RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research emerging threats across the surface web, dark web, and deep web
  • Build threat models, conduct threat hunts, and plan and execute purple team engagements
  • Coordinate internal red team testing operations that emulate a threat actor
  • Collaborate with application development teams, platform engineers, and Security Operations Center (SOC) engineers to improve our offensive and defensive security controls

Responsibilities

The Senior Software Engineer/Developer will be located within the Bureau of Surveillance and Data Systems and will work directly with the Emerging Infections Program (EIP) to take the lead on enhanced informatics needs related to EIP Data Modernization grant deliverables. Specifically, the incumbent will ensure that the Communicable Disease Electronic Surveillance System (CDESS) disease supplemental forms are updated with new surveillance fields and are tested for accuracy and will assist with data quality verifications for the transmission of Health Level 7 (HL7) case notification data to CDC, focusing on the respiratory and invasive bacterial diseases as well as foodborne disease messages. This position will as also evaluate and implement alternate case notification technologies pending CDC decisions. The incumbent will also data exchange between New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) information systems and CDESS to electronically capture laboratory data in case report forms including Whole Genome Sequencing patterns and drug susceptibility results for selected enteric pathogens; sequencing results, and state immunization registry vaccine information for EIP pathogens. The incumbent will participate in regular calls with EIP and the technical assistance team and will work closely with EIP Surveillance Officers to resolve case reporting issues that are identified during audits and edit checks of EIP data.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology or a closely related field and four years computer programming, database design/development, or systems analysis experience; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and six years of such experience; OR eight years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics or a related field and at least three years of experience in public health surveillance, data collection and management of public health program data. Experience with IT systems and/or large, population-based or other health related data sets (e.g. SPARCS, ECLRS), disease registries and working with confidential data, and database design/management and analytics. Use of programming tools such as JAVA and SQL; data analysis from a relational database; HL7; release management process and applicable software (e.g. CVS).

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Office Manager to oversee the seamless functioning of our office operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various administrative tasks, including liaising with building management, coordinating daily catered lunches, managing office inventory, acting as the primary vendor contact, collaborating with the Executive Assistant (EA) on meeting preparations and special projects, and ensuring a smooth first day onboarding process for new office employees.

Your Role:

  • Understand how telematics data is used to create and fuel products and services that caters the insurance industry.
  • Bridge gaps and help define how telematics data can best be used to create new opportunities or enhance existing product suite, and make effective contributions to product strategy
  • Collaborate with other product managers and a multi-disciplinary scrum team to deliver on an ambitious set of objectives for the segment.
  • Use customer feedback, detailed market analysis, and data gathering to make decisions about product strategy.
  • Define and manage KPIs and similar metrics to measure the success of your efforts and to inform the overall product strategy.
  • Manage dependencies and plan roadmap by working with cross functional teams to launch new solutions or new customers. Partner with project management and tech lead to champion smooth execution in an agile environment.

Your Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role with at least 3-5 of experience years in data analytics product management, preferably in insurance or at a minimum with products offered in regulated markets which rely on analysis of complex data
  • Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, computer science or a related field.
  • Experience with the insurance industry, and B2B product offerings is highly desired.
  • Ability to analyze industry trends and competitor behavior, to influence product roadmap.
  • Experience managing projects, timelines, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate business value and prioritization.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for a global organization seeking technical assistance, providing personable technical support for both hardware and software issues
  • Follow and execute all IT Policies and Processes
  • Configure, deploy, and support all macOS and Windows hardware and software according to Movable Ink processes and procedures
  • Support company-wide SaaS application end user access
  • Execute the Onboarding process and create great employee onboarding experiences for all new hires; execute offboarding processes
  • Maintain AV setups in all Conference Rooms, as well as the All Hands space
  • Troubleshoot and maintain multifunction printers
  • Track work in our IT ticketing system
  • Maintain inventory of current Movable Ink hardware and software assets
  • Support and assist implementation of various IT related projects

Qualifications:

  • At least 1+ years of recent IT experience with demonstrated technical skills and troubleshooting in: macOS and Windows 11, printers, and software applications
  • Knowledge of Okta, Google Workspace, Jamf Pro, Zoom, VoIP phone systems and ticketing systems
  • Comfortable supporting office moves
  • Experience supporting various AV setups i.e. Live Town Halls, conference room setup, etc.
  • Can demonstrate confidentiality and discretion where required
  • Ability to learn and absorb new concepts quickly
  • Customer Service mindset with strong verbal and written communications skills, is resilient under pressure, and has a friendly, patient approach
  • Able to commit to 2-3 days per week in the London office

About the Role   

Starburst Data is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Resident Solution Architect. In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with our customers to understand their business challenges and requirements, and then architecting and implementing solutions using Starburst products. As a Resident Solution Architect, you will serve as a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them maximize the value of their data and achieve their business objectives.As a Resident Solution Architect at Starburst you will: - Collaborate with customers to understand their business goals, data architecture, and technical requirements.

  • Design end-to-end solutions that leverage Starburst products to address customer needs, including data access, analytics, and performance optimization.
  • Develop architectural diagrams, technical specifications, and implementation plans for customer projects.
  • Lead the implementation and deployment of Starburst solutions, working closely with customer teams and internal stakeholders.
  • Provide technical guidance and best practices to customers on using Starburst products effectively.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues that arise during the implementation and operation of Starburst solutions.
  • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data management and analytics.

  

Some of the things we look for:- Bachelor's Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role, such as solution architect, data engineer, or software engineer.
  • Deep understanding of data architecture principles, including data modeling, data integration, and data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with distributed query engines (e.g., Presto, Trino, Apache Spark).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about business challenges and technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers and internal teams.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Prior experience with open-source technologies and contributions to the open-source community are highly desirable.

$135,000 - $155,000 a yearThe base salary range for this US full-time position is $135,000 - $155,000 (+ bonus), subject to standard withholding and applicable taxes. All candidates receive equity (ISO) and access to a comprehensive benefits offering.  The base salary range reflects the minimum and maximum target for candidates across all US locations. Work location, skills, experience, and any relevant education or training determine the compensation awarded to the candidate.
