Job Description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is looking for a HR Analytics Specialist to join our People Operations (POps) team. You'll work with the People Analytics team to analyze and present firm-wide data to drive data-driven decisions. You’ll use your expertise and customer-focused approach to validate and audit data, create automations, and create reports and dashboards. 

The ideal candidate has expertise with data, excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data findings into understandable insights. Additionally, the ideal candidate is collaborative in nature and can contribute to team objectives in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate has experience working with HR/people or recruiting data.

Responsibilities

  • Clean up, validate, and maintain current and historical data to ensure accuracy and consistency of reports
  • Design and implement HR data pipelines for streamlined analysis and reporting
  • Generate and distribute regular reports and/or dashboards to track key people metrics and KPIs
  • Work closely with end users on People Ops and technical teams to identify data needs and provide timely insights as needed
  • Identify areas for improvement with the current state of reporting, leveraging tools and workflows to improve auditing and reduce manual work
  • Use data to tell the story behind the numbers and identify the most impactful ways to communicate highlights to various stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, business administration, or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a people data/analytics role
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (like Tableau or PowerBI) and statistical software (Python or R)
  • Proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Hands-on experience with SQL and an understanding of various database technologies (e.g. Postgres), people metrics, KPIs, and their significance in organizational decision-making
  • Experience working with data and reports within enterprise HR systems, preferably Workday
  • Experience managing ETL pipelines is a plus
  • Knowledge of Javascript or Appscript is preferred.

Annual base salary range of $115,000 to $150,000. Pay (base and bonus) may vary depending on job-related skills and experience. A sign-on and discretionary performance bonus may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to company-paid medical and/or other benefits.
