You’ll be setting up and streamlining our financial operations as our first internal accounting hire—ensuring every transaction is accurate, every report is insightful, and every process is built to last. You’ll be the go-to person for month-end close process, ensuring our systems all speak the same financial language, and our accounting data is clean.

What You'll Do

• Manage day-to-day tasks including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.

Qualifications

The Solutions Architecture team at Metronome is a technical group that sits at the intersection of sales, growth, product, and R&D. We’re integral to things like:

​

• Helping the sales team close new customers, owning the technical side of the sales process.
• Ensuring those customers successfully deploy on Metronome.
• Supporting our Growth team in the technical aspects of maximizing long-term customer value and uncovering and closing upsell opportunities.
• Bridging between our customers and our product team to directly influence what we build.

As a member of the team, you’ll be focused on deploying and managing our most strategic enterprise customers. This entails deployments and customer relationships on the scale of our largest customers - like Confluent, Databricks, OpenAI, and Anthropic. These are long-term, complex, deep, and technical engagements with a lot of moving pieces. Expect these to be challenging growth opportunities with extremely high impact.

While you’ll primarily be focused on managing existing enterprise customers post-sales, our philosophy is that every Solutions Architect should have at least some exposure to the full customer lifecycle and the full range of customers we work with. About the Role

The Data Platform team is responsible for aggregating all of Metronome’s data and providing offline data computation in near real-time and batch. Our Data Platform is unique since it not only powers internal use-cases, but also some of our most critical products and customer-facing features—including Data Export (which transfers data into customers' data warehouses), in-app analytics and reporting, andinternal analytics. Our work directly powers financial workflows for companies like OpenAI, Anthropic, Confluent, and Databricks, enabling everything from revenue reconciliation and books close to regulatory reporting and forecasting. 

Core Areas of Ownership

As an engineer on the Data Platform team, you'll ingest and process all of Metronome’s data and build a self-serve platform that enables other teams to create features and products on top of it. We view our role as force multipliers enabling products to be built faster and safer. You’ll help solve challenges like:

• Scalability – Ingesting and processing all of Metronome’s event and usage data, transferring terabytes per day to customers with strict SLAs, and building infrastructure that scales with our growth.
• Reliability & Data Integrity – Powering financial workflows where accuracy is non-negotiable—this data is used for books close, reconciliation, and compliance.
• Performance & Latency – In usage-based businesses, revenue is dynamic and deeply tied to usage data. The faster we can aggregate and expose this data, the faster our customers can act—whether that’s forecasting, preventing overages, or adjusting pricing.
• Partner with product engineering teams to enable and extend data-powered product features like: In-app analytics dashboards, Machine learning models to forecast revenue and recommend pricing and Custom reporting and usage breakdowns for end-customer finance teams

• Build batch and streaming pipelines capable of processing hundreds of thousands of events per second and generating millions of downstream records within a single job.
• Build out capabilities and golden paths for other engineers to build features on top of our large data warehouse in a self-service manner.
• Define and build the tools, systems and interfaces required for internal non-technical users to make business decisions on top of Metronome’s data (finance, product, go to market).
• Influence the overall architecture of Metronome. Drive the technical direction around usage of batch, streaming and real time compute primitives. Shape how key technologies like Spark, Clickhouse, Dagster fit into our company-level strategy.

Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this role is $171,200 - $214,000. This role is targeted at product managers with enterprise experience. Our sales cycle, GTM and customer feedback loops involve spending hours a week with customers, which means that we need product managers who are adept at navigating the complex dynamics between customer feedback, product strategy, and internal resourcing constraints.

😍 Understand and delight customers. Spend hours a week with customers. Understand billing problems better than seasoned finance pros. Ensure that customers trust and love Metronome.

🗣️ Inform product strategy. Work directly with the co-founders to articulate a strategy that balances short-term customer needs, long-term strategic opportunities, and ecosystem-wide trends in the market.

🧠 Pick the right problems. Identify the key problems Metronome needs to be solving by understanding the market, our unique strengths, and the technical opportunities afforded by our product. Work with engineering and design to ensure we're never wasting time pursuing boondoggles.

📈 Prioritize impactful features. Understand which features actually matter to our users, and solve them in a way that generates the impact without taking years to ship.

⚓ Ship features efficiently. Work directly with engineering and design so that product features make their way through the product development pipeline as quickly and safely as possible.

👔 Tie the room together. Product is the heart of Metronome. You'll spend lots of time working with internal members of our sales and marketing teams to ensure they always know the state of the product and how to message features to customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of enterprise product management experience
• Worked on developer-centric products and/or platforms
• Logical thinker with an ability to think from first principles as necessary
• High degree of ownership, paired with a strong ability to prioritize
• Ability to work directly with customers on a daily basis
• CS or other technical degree, or work experience as a software engineer

• Experience with hypergrowth as an early product hire at a successful B2B startup
