Software Engineering (College Graduate) | Acorns

Acorns is seeking current college seniors graduating in 2025 for entry-level software engineering positions across all of our engineering disciplines (Android, Backend, iOS, Web, QA).

Software engineers are responsible for translating high-level business requirements for new Acorns products and features into the services and data models that power them. They think critically about how to architect and build new components in a performant and scalable manner.

As a software engineer, your typical week will involve collaborating with product and other engineering teams such as mobile, frontend, and QA to plan and create new features and infrastructure to build and test reliable and cohesive financial products. Android

Engineering Specializations:

Our Android app is loved by millions. We are looking for Android advocates who love the Android platform and want to work on a cutting edge Android app. Our app is built natively with Kotlin and our team collaborates with designers and product managers to build slick experiences for our users.

Backend

All of our products are built on a strong backend. We are looking for amazing software engineers to work on scalable backend services designed to securely work to help millions of customers invest and save money towards a healthier future.

IOS

We work to make the best native iOS app in the category. Our iOS devs work closely with product and design to build cutting edge user experiences loved by millions. This has led to numerous app store features and promotion inside apple stores across the country. We also work side by side with our iOS core team and backend teams to design clean interfaces and a scalable app.

Web

Our web team members build state of the art web applications with React and Typescript. They work closely with our mobile teams and backend teams to design clean interfaces with GraphQL.

QA (Quality Assurance)

QA engineers ensure Acorns products are reliable and high-quality by developing test plans, automating testing processes, and collaborating with engineering teams to identify and resolve issues. Join us to help deliver seamless and dependable financial experiences.

Compensation Information

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $120,210 and $129,826/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, equity grants, and discretionary cash bonus awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

Requirements

  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in a Technical Product Manager or Product Manager role with a focus on technical products or platforms.
  • Proven experience working in an agile development environment.
  • Experience in leading the development of technical products, SaaS platforms, or enterprise solutions.
  • Technical Skills:
  • A strong understanding of software development processes, including experience with technologies such as React, Django, Postgres, Redis, AWS cloud computing, APIs, microservices, machine learning, WebRTC, Matrix, VoIP, Jisti, etc.
  • Familiarity with product management tools (Jira, Trello, Asana) and prototyping tools (Figma, InVision).
  • Strong understanding of systems architecture and the ability to communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels of the organization.

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $13700 - $28600 annually.

We are looking for an experienced engineer to join us in building, scaling, and operationalizing the next generation of Metronome’s powerful billing platform.

What You'll Do

  • Create, own, and evolve high performance, high throughput services that power Metronome’s powerful billing product
  • Define SLOs and SLAs to hold ourselves accountable to a high standard of reliability across the entire product surface area

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of work experience working on high scale/throughput systems
  • Ability to debug and refactor complex and complicated code
  • Ability to architect and fully spec new systems and changes to complex existing systems with an active, dynamic, ever-growing customer base
  • Ability to communicate ideas, concepts, and processes in a clear way

Compensation

The estimated base salary range for this role is $165,000 - $192,500. In addition to your base salary, Metronome offers a competitive total rewards package, including but not limited to, market-benched equity, sales incentive pay (for eligible roles), comprehensive health benefits, and other benefits listed below.

The actual base salary will vary based on factors including market value, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process, and previous experience. The listed range above should serve as a guideline and may be modified at any time.

This role is targeted at product managers with enterprise experience. Our sales cycle, GTM and customer feedback loops involve spending hours a week with customers, which means that we need product managers who are adept at navigating the complex dynamics between customer feedback, product strategy, and internal resourcing constraints.

 

😍 Understand and delight customers. Spend hours a week with customers. Understand billing problems better than seasoned finance pros. Ensure that customers trust and love Metronome.

 

🗣️ Inform product strategy. Work directly with the co-founders to articulate a strategy that balances short-term customer needs, long-term strategic opportunities, and ecosystem-wide trends in the market.

 

🧠 Pick the right problems. Identify the key problems Metronome needs to be solving by understanding the market, our unique strengths, and the technical opportunities afforded by our product. Work with engineering and design to ensure we're never wasting time pursuing boondoggles.

 

📈 Prioritize impactful features. Understand which features actually matter to our users, and solve them in a way that generates the impact without taking years to ship.

 

⚓ Ship features efficiently. Work directly with engineering and design so that product features make their way through the product development pipeline as quickly and safely as possible.

 

👔 Tie the room together. Product is the heart of Metronome. You'll spend lots of time working with internal members of our sales and marketing teams to ensure they always know the state of the product and how to message features to customers.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of enterprise product management experience
  • Worked on developer-centric products and/or platforms
  • Logical thinker with an ability to think from first principles as necessary
  • High degree of ownership, paired with a strong ability to prioritize
  • Ability to work directly with customers on a daily basis
  • CS or other technical degree, or work experience as a software engineer

Bonus Points

  • Experience with hypergrowth as an early product hire at a successful B2B startup

As a Product Marketing Analyst, you will help craft positioning and messaging and support the execution of marketing strategies for Boomi AI and the Boomi Enterprise Platform. This role requires solid knowledge of product marketing, the Enterprise Software landscape, and agentic AI technologies. The ideal candidate brings experience in product or solution marketing, preferably within the iPaaS or AI vendor space.  

  

What you'll do: 

  • Craft compelling, differentiated positioning and messaging by developing deep insights into target buyers and their needs
  • Produce high-quality customer-facing assets, including presentations, datasheets, case studies, videos, and demos, to skillfully communicate the value of our solutions to potential buyers
  • Support the execution of marketing programs and sales enablement
  • Conduct competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation
  • Collaborate with product management to drive launches and act as the voice of the   

buyer to help influence roadmap decisions

  • Present at customer-facing physical events and webinars as a subject matter expert

The Experience you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or other related programs
  • 2+ years of product marketing, solution marketing, or product management experience in the enterprise software/SaaS space with an emphasis on AI
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and market technology products to a technical and business audience
  • Well-developed analytical skills and experience with market research, competitive analysis, and marketing metrics
  • Advanced verbal & written communication skills, able to craft compelling stories and  articulate complex technical details and concepts in a clear, concise manner
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams, including product management, sales, and customer success
